Manhan Rail Trail, Easthampton, Mass. 01027

MEETING TIME AND PLACE: 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Manhan Rail Trail where it crosses Payson Avenue in Easthampton. For a GPS address, please use Tandem Bagels, 9 Railroad Avenue, Easthampton, Mass, 01027, which is a few hundred feet away from the intersection where we will meet. An alternative GPS address to use is 50 Payson Avenue, which is the Easthampton City Hall which offers free public parking. Restrooms are available in the Easthampton City Hall; see below.

PARKING: There are several places to park in the area, including Railroad Avenue across the street from Tandem Bagels, or the Easthampton City Hall, 50 Payson Avenue, which is a few hundred feet away.

DESCRIPTION OF WALK: The group will walk south on the Manhan Rail Trail in Easthampton towards Coleman Road, the town line between Southampton and Easthampton, where the Rail Trail ends, a distance of  1 3/4 miles. Dependending on the weather, we plan on walking about 1 ½ to 2 hours. The distance we cover will vary.

RESTROOMS: Public restrooms are available in the Easthampton City Hall, 50 Payson Avenue. After entering the building from the parking lot, go up the stairs on the left; the restrooms are on the right at the top of the stairs. There is also an elevator available. Face masks may be required to enter the building.
