A request from our community partner, Friends of Northampton Trails.

A few years ago, Friends of Northampton Trails worked with Northampton Planning and Sustainability Department and local artist Kim Carlino to paint colorful, bold floral designs at several intersections of the rail trail and four streets in Florence. Since then, consistent with our priorities, we have been discussing how FNT might continue to support artistic expression on the trail. This year we expect to support several initiatives:

•    The relocation of a sculpture from Main Street to someplace along the trail,
•    A Tiny Art Gallery project with Kim Carlino,
•    An affirmation mural project with local artist Sharon Leshner, and
•    A History of Florence mural along the rail trail near Florence Village, planned by Rochelle Schicoff.

We are looking for a few Northampton residents who may be interested in working with FNT on the Arts on the Trail committee. If this might be something you or someone you know might enjoy, please contact Freeman@fntg.net.
