Services & Programs

How best can we help one another maintain independence, dignity, and joy over time? Northampton Neighbors answers this question in two ways: direct support services and a variety of programs that bring us together no matter our age or where we live. We are always looking for new ways to engage and connect. If you have an idea, contact us at 413-341-0160.

Services

Members 55+ who live in Northampton, Florence, or Leeds can request services. Not a member? Join! It's free. It’s easy to request a service, but it is important to plan ahead, as it usually takes at least three days to schedule a service. Here are some of the services we offer. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have a special request. We may be able to help or suggest someone who can.

 At Home

At home services may include tasks and small fixes such as: changing a lightbulb, flipping a mattress, watering plants, picking up mail while you are away, changing batteries in a hard-to-reach smoke and CO detector, light garden work, walking your dog, and more. Not a member? Join! It's free.

  Neighborly Visits

At times, a Neighborly Visit is just the thing. Meet an NN volunteer at your home, in a garden or park, or out on the town for about an hour of conversation.

Programs

NN programs are all about connection, so they're open to everyone. Socialize, share common interests, learn something new. Don’t see what you’re looking for? We’re always open to new ideas! Please let us know your interests.

  Neighborhood Circles

Neighborhood Circles are a way for members to connect with those who live closest to them. A local official may share city happenings, or a speaker from the neighborhood may bring a story to tell. There is always time for questions and conversation. Find your Neighborhood Circle here.

Interest Groups

Together, we create community. Northampton Neighbors Interest Groups are formed and run by members. Hikers, walkers, knitters, readers, gardeners, and others come together to explore and share our passions. Join an NN Interest Group or start one of your own. The sky’s the limit! Learn more about Interest Groups here.

Speaker Series

Northampton Neighbors' lively Speaker Series began in 2018, guided by a commitment to present topics of particular interest to older people as well as those intended for a broader audience. The series is very popular and well attended. We hope you’ll join us. Learn more here.

Events

In addition to ongoing programs, NN hosts a number of events throughout the year to connect us, such as mix 'n' mingles, talent shows, and our annual picnic. Members receive email notifications about upcoming social events and we list them on our calendar.

NN Monthly Insights

NN Monthly Insights is an education series providing practical information about valuable resources and relevant topics for seniors in our community. Join us the second Tuesday of each month, 4:15–4:45 pm, and become a knowledgeable, empowered advocate for your own aging process. Members receive email notifications about upcoming social events, and we list them on our calendar.
