COVID-19 Statement

Published on 8/28/2023

Life has changed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Northampton Neighbors (NN) is developing and adjusting its policies accordingly, with an overall concern for keeping our community safe. We will no longer ask about vaccination history or keep records of this. Although vaccination doesn't prevent infection per se, in most people it drastically decreases viral load and thus contagiousness.

Most NN members remain in what is considered a high-risk group for serious COVID-19 infections on the basis of age alone. So we continue to encourage avoiding exposure to COVID-19 and helping others to do this also.

This includes:
    ● Being up to date with COVID-19 vaccine
    ● Wearing masks, especially when in crowded indoor settings
    ● Maximizing ventilation
    ● Using antigen tests if you think you’ve been exposed to the virus or if you develop symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

We strongly recommend you read this information from the CDC:
    ● how to protect yourself and others
    ● when to test
